Gazing Ball
Gazing Ball is an installation addressing how the taking in of information affects and is affected by brain chemistry. The work touches on the role neurotransmitters play in the development of belief. An enlarged dopamine molecular model made from mirrored gazing balls is bombarded with news broadcasts. The projected information reflects off of the surface of the dopamine into greatly distorted images that flicker on the walls surrounding the molecule. Layered sound echoes around the space simulating the reflected projection.
