Everything is Self Defense

The Gadsden (yellow) and Gonzales (white) flags are historical flags from the beginnings of US and Texas history respectively. They have been appropriated by contemporary right-wing ideologues. The text on each flag is lightly altered to emphasize the word ME underscoring the ultimate motivation, self-preservation behind the ideologies (and most ideologies right or left). Because of the way people construct the self, an assault on belief feels like an assault on the self, regardless of the reality.
