Material is cut from an internet meme printed on MDO to construct shackles and chain. The meme consists of an image of the continental congress overlaid with text espousing a false and problematic ideology. The shackles not only reference the major role chattel slavery played in the success of the country (not listed in the meme’s list of Christianity, capitalism, and the constitution) but also the confinement such a narrow ideology produces.
