Threshold

A freestanding construction supports a door-shaped screen onto which is projected a short video documenting a found situation. The video travels from an enigmatic space out through a crack, and around to reveal that the star-filled space was in fact the interior of an Olmec head facsimile. A simple gesture reveals the magic hidden just beneath the surface of things and opens up a complex string of associations running from ancient Olmec civilization, through the present, out into the universe, and back again.
