St. Apophenia

A mythological saint named after apophenia, a scientific term for the propensity of humans to find patterns in sets of unrelated data. A type of apophenia, pareidolia, involves perceiving faces in inanimate objects. So, the phenomenon responsible for many religious experiences has been transformed into a saint. Saint Apophenia is the patron saint of patternmakers, fortunetellers, artists, coincidence and the mentally ill.
