You Complete Me (expanded version)

A brain hemisphere floats in the center of a mirror suspended from the ceiling. The reflection visually completes the brain. The back side of the mirror functions as a screen on which five TikTok video trends are projected. Each individual trend (short video pulled from the internet of people recreating a task or action usually to the same soundtrack) is represented by a series of 12-15 video clips with the action in each video repeating the actions of the previous. The work speaks to the human propensity to mimic as a way to learn, form community, and generate culture.
